While most kids sleep…

Mine are up doing all kinds of things. On Friday night, around 12:30am, Ryan asked me to get down a box that held some math “manipulatives” that I had purchased during our initial school-at-home phase. He then proceeded to play with all kinds of things:

He and Sean sat together and played with dominoes. Ryan really loves doing that.

Then he created some people using rubber bands and pegboards. Afterwards, he got out the scale and was weighing some little plastic bears and trying to figure out if the different colors all had different weights. It was really fun to see him have this creative spurt so late at night! Many times the boys get inspired to do things late and, if it’s feasible we do what we can to oblige their requests. Just another one of the beauties of living the way we do.

  1. what a cute rubber band man! How fun! 🙂

  2. YES!!!
No my kids aren’t sleeping either 🙂
It’s great to see others embrace the journey, learning and living happens at all hours of the day and night.
    Thanks for sharing 🙂

  3. Glad you guys enjoyed it!

  4. I remember playing with those band boards. let your creative juices flow!
looks like they had a blast. 🙂

  5. I’m gonna send Maddie to live with you guys – last night it was 3am that she demanded cereal! And then “Uhn pway Poon on the puter!”

  6. kalurah, they did indeed enjoy themselves immensely!

Stephanie, it sounds like Maddie and Ryan may be soulmates. Putting them together could be dangerous! LOL
