Y’all, I went to the Gyno yesterday for my annual exam. Well, I hadn’t been in two years but disregard that. It was a great appointment! See, I have some issues beyond the mental ones you’ve seen demonstrated here and yesterday I got some news that really and truly made me feel like I was walking on air.
After Ryan was born, my bladder was SHOT. I wear Depends, people. Depends. I’m 36 years old and let me tell you it’s not fun. I pee all the time and don’t even know it, not a river, just dribbles, but still. It’s embarrassing. Well, now there is a procedure to fix that and insurance covers it! No more buying diapers for myself at the store, no more being self-conscious when I’m watching a comedy with a group of people. Life-changing.
Next, my periods have been pretty horrific for the last year or so. I’ll spare you the details on that but there is a procedure called endometrial ablation that is going to help me with that, too. My period keeps me at home but after this procedure, that won’t be the case! My shut-in days are over!
Last but not least, I’m getting my tubes tied. Five years into Ryan’s childhood I cannot imagine having another child. It would be traumatic and Sean and I don’t use any BC so we’re really just tempting fate here. I can’t get my tubes done until 3 months after these other procedures but it’s going to be great.
I have felt gross, dirty, embarrassed for so long and now that all these things are going to be fixed I’m going to feel like a normal woman again. I can go out in public and dance if I want to. I can RUN! Couldn’t do that. I can JUMP! Couldn’t do that either.
I’m so excited and in a couple of weeks I go in for my tests to make sure I’m a candidate for all these things. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
Woo hoo, Evie!
I am so happy for you. Here’s to new beginnings!

This will all be life changing! Cool! I wanted to warn you that my SIL got pregnant after her tubes were tied because she didn’t wait the six months you need to before you have unprotected sex. So be careful. Hope you’re having a blast in Disney. What a good idea.

That’s great – I’m going to be having the endometrial ablation soo, as well. Even after my insurance pays 80%, I’ll be out about $800 (20% + deductible) so it will be a little while before I can get it done, but I can hardly wait!!!
Hope everything works out!

Ooof! I hope it doesn’t cost me that much otherwise I’ll have to wait for the procedure as well.
Good luck with yours and I hope you come back to visit!
