Farm Fest and the Children’s Museum All in One Day!

Wow! We had an action-packed Saturday and it was SO much fun! First thing we did was get up and head out to Farm Fest Five. It cost $20 for us all to get in and it was worth every penny. The boys got to see sheep, llamas, alpacas, chickens, sheep-herding dogs, and they had such a good time! Here are a couple of photos from that field trip:

After the festival, we came home to recharge our batteries and then we went back out and went to the Children’s Museum. God, I really love that place. I hate it when it’s packed with kids but yesterday no one was there and we had the whole place to ourselves almost. It’s a great resource and yesterday we bought a membership so we can go anytime we want. Here are some pics from our trip there:

Momma, I'm goin' fast!

What a great weekend!

  1. Fabulous day!
The pictures are great! I especially like the one with hubby and then the last three of the boys!
Whenever we go to our children’s museum I always think “sheesh, why don’t we come every day?!?” especially since we have a (about to be expired) membership.
    Such a great place.
Really? no one there on a saturday? Wow!

  2. Well, I’d be willing to be no one was there because school’s back in and soccer just started up and people are “too busy”.

I usually avoid it like the plague myself because crowds of people can make me break out in hives!

It’s nice that in most major cities there is a children’s museum. One of the greatest creations for kids!

  3. Absolutely (one of the greatest creations for kids).
It’s so spectacularly great to have a place where you don’t have to figure out a way to urge the children not to touch things or shout or behave in certain ways.
    It’s always a relief, actually.
I was thinking that, too, folks are busy just getting back in school, and are not in to the swing of things, yet.
Agreed – always better to go when it’s empty – we usually go after two, after the school trips leave!

  4. Hi, just found your blog by way of recommended links after a recent post. Looks like we have quite a bit in common. Though I could learn a thing or two from the beautiful photos you provide. In the mean time, look forward to reading more.

    All best,

    Jen Hazard
